Frances Lucille Wendt Wren, 99, a lifetime resident of Great Falls, passed away on November 29, 2015, at Renaissance Assisted Living, of natural causes. A Funeral Service is planned for Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the Rose Room Chapel, at Croxford Funeral Home, with Pastor Lee Barrows officiating. A Visitation is one hour prior, 9:00 AM, in the Rose Room Chapel. A graveside service will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery.

Frances was born in Great Falls to Louis William and Lucille (Brose) Wendt on June 18, 1916. Frances grew up and attended local schools in Great Falls. She graduated from Great Falls High in 1934. Frances was very proud of her family’s legacy. Her father founded Wendt Advertising, and her brother, Wally, was past president of the company. Her family was actively involved in the National Wildlife Federation.

On June 26, 1935, Frances married George W. Wren. They were blessed to conceive a daughter, Donna, and a son, Robert. Frances loved her family dearly. She lived her life for them. Frances and George bought land in Lincoln, MT, in August of 1959. Together they enjoyed many camping experiences. She was a gracious hostess, adored cooking and ensuring everyone’s favorite penny candy was on hand. Frances enjoyed playing hands of bridge and other card games. She belonged to several bridge clubs and enjoyed duplicate bridge at the Senior Center for years.

Frances spoke of living through the Great Depression and four wars. Throughout her life, her focus has always been on her family, their happiness and togetherness.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna L. (Gene) Roy, and son, Robert W. (Jackie) Wren, both of Great Falls; five grandchildren: Lisa Kae Marshall (Glen) Read, Suzie Marshall (Steve) Justice, Michael S. (Laura) Wren, R. Craig (Mary) Wren, Darcy Wren Dea; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over fifty-years, George Wren; her parents, Louis and Lucille Wendt; a brother, Wallace Wendt; great-grandson, Jonathan Read; and grandson-in-law, Ed Dea.

The family suggests donations may be made to Hospice.
