Franklin Morgan Obituary

Franklin “Frank” Irving Morgan, 84, of Augusta, MT passed away peacefully with his family at his side, during the early morning hours of April 24th, 2021.  Cremation has been entrusted to Croxford Funeral Home and no services have been planned at this time.

Born in Choteau, MT to Bill and Ruth (Burch)Morgan, Frank’s family moved to Augusta when he was in the third grade. He graduated from Augusta High School in 1955, it was during this time that Frank met and married his bride of 66 years, Helen Foster. They were inseparable and she quickly learned that Frank’s love of anything horse related was going to be a big part of their life.

Frank loved the rodeo! He was in the very first high school rodeo in Augusta, and he won bareback riding at Districts that year. He enjoyed team roping, bulldogging and calf roping; He helped with local rodeos for many years. He worked for the Krone and Barrett Ranches and many other ranches in the area, assisting ranchers with calving, branding and fall work. Frank started colts and trained horses throughout his life, he loved his team of mules and gave his family fond memories of wagon rides on Christmas eve and caroling. He followed three kid to high school rodeo events and continued to follow his grandkids with rodeo and any other sports they participated in.

Frank worked as a Section Boss for the Montana Highway Department for 35 years. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter, who shared his passion for the outdoors with others for 24 years as a mountain guide. He also enjoyed his more civic duties, such as serving on the school board, driving school bus and being on the volunteer fire department.

He always had a joke and a smile; He will be greatly missed.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Ruth Morgan and his two brothers, Cliff and Ralph (Frank’s twin brother) Morgan.

Frank leaves behind his loving wife Helen Morgan; Sons, Bob (Julie) Morgan, Dave (Donna) Morgan; Daughter Nancy (Bruce)Fuller; Grandchildren Kristie (Doug) Nelson, Jesse (Crystal) Morgan, Barbie (Stacey) Forseth, Cleve (Jamie) Fuller and Mandy (Jim) Sunford; along with 7 great-grandchildren Kyla and Garrett Nelson, Ryan and Lauren Morgan, Tyler and Kacey Sunford and Rhen Fuller.
