Sonny was born on September 5, 1942 in Hughesville, MT to parents Harold H. Henderson and Clara LaMere. Sonny attended school at Great Falls High before joining the Navy where he would later retire. He worked in the boiler room aboard a Navy ship in the Vietnam War and was stationed in Hawaii, Korea, Philippines, and California. In addition to his years in the Navy, he worked a variety of construction jobs and dabbled mechanics which was fueled by his love for cars.
Harold enjoyed the time he got to spend teaching his kids how to work on cars and often worked on vehicles for his family. He also enjoyed time spent reading, watching westerns, the History channel, watching the Denver Broncos play, bowling, and playing pool. As someone who enjoyed cooking, his favorite meals to cook were chili, banic, and fried potatoes; but above every interest and hobby, Harold was truly passionate about his love for his family. He was a devoted Husband, loving father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He truly held his family above all else.
