Jo "JoJo" Weingart Obituary

Watch Live Here

Jo Anne (Evans) Weingart, our loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many, took her final breath on the evening of July 25, 2021, after a courageous battle with dementia.  She woke up that morning smiling in heaven, in the loving embrace of her daughter, who she lost nearly 30 years ago.  She had a glow to her that would light up any room, the brains to accomplish anything, and a smile you would never forget.  Services will be held in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home on August 14, 2021, at 11 a.m.  A reception will follow.

JoJo was born in Helena on November 23, 1948, to David and Dorothy (White) Evans.  She was the second of their three daughters.  After splitting time in Montana and California, the Evans clan finally settled on a grain farm in Fairfield, Montana.  She graduated as the valedictorian of her class at Fairfield High School in 1966.  She began her early adulthood in Missoula and attended the University of Montana briefly before the birth of her first son, Sean.  A few years followed before the birth of her son Josh, and her only daughter, Michael Jo.  The family would make their way to Great Falls soon after, and her youngest child Shane was born a few years later.

In the early 1980s, Jo caught the eye of Matt Weingart while the two worked at Abbco. Inc., a local diesel equipment dealership. Although they were on different paths at the time, they were always destined to be together.  They were married on February 18, 1995 in Las Vegas, and the bond they made that day grew stronger each day until her passing. Matt, who was a loving father to all of Jo’s children, lost his soulmate.

Jo was an excellent bookkeeper and very savvy with numbers, working for many Great Falls businesses.  She loved working on jigsaw puzzles with her sisters around the holidays, conquering every crossword and sudoku puzzle book she could find, and reading any Steven King or Dean Kuntz book she could get her hands on.  In her younger years she enjoyed camping and fishing; almost every family photo seemed to be around a campfire near a Montana lake.  She could also strike fear into anyone sitting at a poker table in the 90s. When life slowed down, you could find her spending her days planting flowers in her yard and enjoying time around the pool with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her loving husband of 26 years, Matt Weingart; her sons, Sean (Crystal) Sullivan, Josh Johnson, and Shane (Monica) Knott; her sisters Michael Evans and Christine (Casey) Tuckerman; as well as her grandchildren, Kayla, Dylan, and Julie Sullivan, and Oscar, Kayson, Piper, and Paisleigh Knott.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michael Jo Johnson; her parents, David and Dorothy Evans; and her grandparents Walter and Elizabeth White and Abner and Dorothy Evans.

We love and miss you, JoJo, and we’ll celebrate you forever.
