Joan Lee Zimmerman, 77, of Great Falls peacefully passed away Thursday morning, January 4, 2024. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was born to parents John and Mavis Woodahl in Great Falls. Growing up she enjoyed being outdoors, riding horses and music.
When Joan was 13, she met her sweetheart and longtime husband Bob W. Zimmerman. Together they raised 3 children and started a business, Bob’s Imperial Truck Service. While doing the payroll and bookkeeping for their business, she went to night school and became a computer operator at Northwest Bank. Later, she worked for Benefis Health System where she stayed for almost 20 years. She always enjoyed hard work.
Joan cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved reading her bible and working in her yard. She also helped support various charities and Christian organizations. She was always willing to help family and friends.
Joan is survived by her husband, Bob Zimmerman, and her loving children, Scott Zimmerman and Brigitte Albers; her grandchildren Lillian and Joshua Zimmerman, Justin Kase, Corey Hughes, Gary Jr., Austin and Trinity Albers, and Shiloh Miller; her sisters Judy Duncan, Lana Frederick, Jeanne Novy and Patty Frier.
Joan was preceded in death by her son Keenan W. Zimmerman, her parents John and Mavis Woodahl and her brother Mark Woodahl.
We will miss you very much. We know you are reunited with loved ones in the next life. God bless you for all you have done.
Joan will be laid to rest in the spring. A celebration of life will take place by the family.
