June was born in Scobey, Montana on April 3, 1923 to Victoria and Roland Olsen. The Olsens had another child from their marriage, June's brother Donald "Buzz" Olsen. Born into a musical family, June started piano lessons as a young child. During her college years at the University of Washington in Seattle, she wed her first husband, Robert R. Wilde. Because he was already enlisted in the Navy, June went out to marry him in Norfolk, VA in 1944. They had three children together, Gayle, Bruce & Shary. They spent the most of their 53 years of marriage in northern California. June was an accomplished concert pianist and music teacher and performed in San Francisco and around the Bay Area. She also enjoyed composing poetry for Christmas cards and sewing clothes for family and friends. The family enjoyed making music together, as well as camping and snow skiing in the mountains around the Lake Tahoe, CA area. After Robert's death in 1997, June moved to Great Falls, MT at the age of 74. Shortly thereafter, she married, Joseph R. Marra in 1999, who had four sons from his previous marriage, Frank, Tom, John and Paul. June continued her music and realized her dream of completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Great Falls in August 2002. In addition, she earned the honor of the oldest graduate from the university at the age of 79. She continued her piano playing for musical groups and school events. June expanded her sewing skills and starting quilting with the PDQ Quilt Club where she received top honors for her quilts. June will be lovingly missed by her husband Joseph in Great Falls, MT; children Gayle in Coachella, CA, Bruce & Marilyn in Indio, CA, Shary & Fred in Louisville, CO; grandchildren Christopher in Kernville, CA, Danielle & Brian in Santa Rosa, CA, Alexander & Alena in Louisville, CO; the Marra families in Great Falls, MT, Boise, ID, Honolulu, HI, Los Angeles, CA and Portland, OR; and numerous great grandchildren.
