Laurence Poss

Laurence “Larry” William Poss, 89. Passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

Larry was born on February 9, 1935 in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota to Henry Poss and Gina Olina Orpen. He attended school here in his later years, graduating with the class of 53’. Upon his high school graduation, Larry sought out his degree in Electrician’s work. He attended North Dakota State School of Science and graduated in 1960. With his newfound degree, Larry made the brave and courageous decision to join the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Electrician. After many proud years of serving his country, he was honorably discharged. His service time landed him in Great Falls, Montana where he would spend the next 60 years of his life. Larry was an electrician and foreman for Cascade Electric Company for the remainder of his working career.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman. He often found himself camping in the mountains and either hunting or fishing every chance he got. Larry loved soaking in the fresh air that nature had to offer. He found golfing especially peaceful and would hit the course multiple times a year.  If he wasn’t accompanied by nature’s many wonders, Larry was hanging out with his friends here in Great Falls. One of those being his very special friend, Norma Ferguson. The two were inseparable and made dozens of fun memories over the years.

Larry is survived by his brother, Edwin Poss of Fergus Falls, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Henry Poss and Gina Orpen; his special friend, Norma Ferguson; brothers, John and Edward Poss; and his sisters, Agnes Moon and Martha Poss.
