Lois Elaine (Galt) Reynolds

July 11, 1927 ~ December 22, 2015 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Lois Elaine Galt Reynolds passed away in Helena, MT on December 22, 2015 of natural causes

Lois was born on July 11, 1927 in Great Falls, MT.  The eldest daughter born to Rollin Galt and Ruby Skelton Galt, she was raised in Stanford, MT.  She attended Montana State College and graduated from what became Montana State University school of Nursing in 1950.  She was very proud of her profession as a nurse.  The majority of her nursing career was as an obstetrical nurse, which she loved.  She married William Reynolds in Great Falls on April 15, 1951.  They raised four daughters and their grand daughter, Julie, until she was 7 years old.

Lois was creative and very artistic.  She painted china dishes and porcelain dolls as a hobby for many years.  She was a skilled seamstress and sewed an endless number of dresses for all of her girls, her grandchildren and for all of her many dolls.  She also loved genealogy as a hobby and did extensive searches for relatives on her Skelton and Galt families, as well as her husband’s Reynolds and Nyquist families.  She created treasured photo/family-tree scrapbooks for her daughters.  Lois was a big Bobcat fan, loved to fly fish with her husband when she was young and grew raspberries her grandchildren loved to eat on the sly.  She was an avid reader, loved Montana history books and enjoyed her time as a volunteer at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center for a number of years.  She was a great cook and is remembered by her family for her wonderful meals.  She was adventurous in trying new recipes, different cuisines and even took Chinese cooking lessons.  She enjoyed entertaining and feeding family and friends.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Corinne Galt Acosta and Jose Acosta; her daughter, Leslee Reynolds Larson and her husband, William T. Reynolds.

She is survived by her daughters, Shelley (Jim) McCormick of Helena, MT, Annette (Virgil) Rayhel of Merritt Island, FL, Susan (Rollyn) Oman of Bozeman, MT, her grandchildren, Julie Larson Score, Erin and Scott McCormick, Brian Fitzpatrick and Molly (Joey) Daniel; great grandchildren Logan, Sylas and Nathan Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved.
