Mae Kulish

May 11, 1926 ~ December 20, 2015 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Mae Velenchenko Kulish, 89, of Great Falls, passed away at Peace Hospice on December 20, 2015 from natural causes.  A visitation will be held in The Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 9:30 am, with her Funeral Service to follow at 10:30 am. Mae will be laid to rest in the Stanford Cemetery at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.  A reception will follow at the First Presbyterian Church in Stanford.  A Celebration of Life for Mae, will take place later, in May of 2016.

Mae was born in Fayette, North Dakota to Gust and Lena (Kohanes) Velenchenko on May 11, 1926. She attended Killdeer High School in North Dakota.  She became Jack Kulish’s bride in 1944.

Mae and Jack moved to Stanford, Montana in 1950, where they started a ranch and farmed the land until Jacks’ passing in 1991.  Mae was always very involved in different organizations throughout her years, including: Stanford Homemakers Club, Eastern Star, 4H Leadership, United Presbyterian Women’s Organization, and a County Precinct Election Official, just to name a few.  Mae was an avid vegetable gardener and canner.  She also very much enjoyed sewing, crocheting, ceramics, and any other form of crafting.

Mae is survived by her son, James (Cindy) Kulish of Stanford, MT; daughters, Sharon Kulish-Bayles (Rick Bayles), of South Bend, WA, Carol Kulish (Bill Cone), of Ovando, MT, Janet (Wayne) Fischer, of Fargo, ND and Melbourne, FL; sisters, Betty Fornia, of Shoreline, WA, Delores Meidinger, of Dickinson, ND, and Faye (Emanuel) Stroh, of Dickinson, ND; brother, Gust (Jean) Velenchenko, of Shepard, MT; grandchildren, Katrena Fischer Herring, Jason Fischer, Wade Fischer, Carrie Fischer Hern, Kandace Kulish Kochivar and Holly Kulish; step-grandchildren, Todd Bayles and Scott Bayles; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Josiah, and Ezra Herring, and  Bethany Fischer, Caitlynne (Jason) Fischer, and Cynthia Kochivar; step great-grandchildren, Amaya, Daniel, and Caroline Bayles.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Jack Kulish; sisters, Frances and Grace; and brother, Anton.
