Marjorie Bourne, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on March 30, 1939, in Havre, Montana, to Carl and Florence (Shafer) Vande Sandt.
Marjorie lived a life deeply rooted in the land she loved. A hardworking farm and ranch Montana gal, she chose to make her home in one of the most beautiful spots in the state, enjoying an amazing view of Glacier National Park, near the Sweet Grass Hills and Marias River. Marjorie had a tremendous love for animals, diligently caring for her horses, dogs, and many other critters, including in her last years, 20 or so peacocks! She had a love of country music and John Wayne, so much so that she willed to be buried in a pine box. She was also an incredible artist with watercolor, photography and leather work. Above all, her greatest joy came from her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Max Bourne, who passed on November 26, 2003, her sister, Alice V. Wong, who passed on May 2, 2023, and her parents Carl (d.1956) and Florence (d. 2001).
Marjorie is survived by her family, including her children, Linda Parker, Brian Bourne, and Steven Scott Bourne. She leaves behind a legacy in her grandchildren: Jennifer Bergerson, Jami Wheeler (Jarrett), Josh Hedges (Kendra), and Travis Bourne (Laura), as well as her great-grandchildren: Keagan, Tarryn, Emma, Thomas, and Daniel. She is also survived by her siblings, Gilbert "Bud" (Margret d. 2025) Vande Sandt and Lloyd "Hap" (Sonya) Vande Sandt.
Marjorie was laid to rest next to the love of her life on October 24, 2025, at Magrath Cemetery, where she will forever be under the Montana Big Sky (adjacent) and flanked by the majestic Canadian Rockies.
