Mark Mascarenas, 49, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 of respiratory failure.
Mark was born March 1st, 1965 in Denver, CO, and was educated in Shelby, MT, graduating in 1983. He later attended the Montana State University in Bozeman, MT and graduated with a Bachelors in Business.
Mark was a long time employee of the Great Falls Tribune Classified Advertising Department, leaving due to medical reasons after serving his valued customers for almost 20 years.
Mark fully enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and his faithful furry companion Buddy. He loved soaking up the rays on his deck reading a good book. Mark's nieces and nephews were truly the apple of his eye, the "Best Uncle" ever. Mark was a diehard fan of the Denver Broncos and the Bobcats and anxiously awaited football season each year.
Although Mark was confined to a wheelchair as a young man, he stood tall, living life to the fullest. He thoroughly enjoyed attending social events, the State Fair and the horse races, Bobcat games, Alive at Five, Reunions, BBQ's, etc. Mark never met a stranger, he touched many lives and made friends wherever he went with his infectious smile, laugh and sense of humor. He was a true inspiration to all he met and will truly be missed by a countless number of family, friends and all who were blessed enough to have met him.
Mark is survived by his mother, Bea Mascarenas; brother Michael Mascarenas, Sioux Falls, SD; sisters Michelle (Chuy) Villagomez, San Jose, CA, Monica Mascarenas, Seattle, WA; his adored nieces Royana, Rose, Mystie and Alyssa and nephews Diego, Anthony, Camden and Young Jae.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Roy Mascarenas and beloved furry companion Cosmo.
Services will be held Friday August 8, 10:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes, 409 13th St. S., Great Falls, MT. Reception will follow at the Church Hall.
The family encourages wearing your Bronco or Bobcat attire, or their team colors in honor of Mark.
