Mathew L. Lyons, 48, of Shelby, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, November 4th at 11:00 AM in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home.
Born August 10, 1973, in Hialeah, Florida to Leslie and Sharon (McCollum) Lyons, Mathew grew up in Hollywood, FL, graduating from Hollywood Hills High School in 1991. He was married for 21 years to Tiffany Pisciotti, and although this union ended in divorce, they were blessed with two children, Matthew and Megan. He volunteered as a Cub Scout Leader as his son was growing up. An outdoorsman at heart, he loved taking road trips, fishing, hunting and hanging out around the campfire with family and friends. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears and the Miami Hurricanes football teams.
Mathew spent 36 years of his life in Florida where he worked as a general contractor. He moved to Montana, taking the position of a U. S. Customs and Border Protection Officer. He spent time in West Virginia as a Program Director for the Homeland Security National Targeting Center, then returned to Montana as the Port Director for U. S. Customs and Border Protection in Shelby. During his career as the Port Director in Montana he received numerous performance awards in 2011, 2013, 2017-2020.
Survivors include his beloved children, Matthew Lyons and Megan Lyons; sister, Colleen Lyons Ghassemi; brother-in-law, Amir Ghassemi; nephew, Anthony Hernandez; nieces, Angie Hernandez, Nina Ghassemi an Isabella Ghassemi; ex-wife, Tiffany Lyons. He was preceded in death by his parents.
