Phyllis Eileen (Porro) Vining

Phyllis Eileen Vining, 90, of Great Falls passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of January 2, 2021. Cremation has been entrusted to Croxford Funeral Home. There are no funeral plans at this time.

She was born on August 2, 1930 to Phillip and Dora (Potts) Porro in Great Falls, MT, where she was raised and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1948.  Four years later, when she was 22-years old, Phyllis married a young Coast Guard vet named Robert Vining. The young couple would spend the next 56 years together before Bob’s passing on November 15, 2008.

Phyllis worked for many years as a phone operator and after her retirement, she enjoyed being a housewife and community volunteer. She had many hobbies and participated in many civic and social group activities in her community. 

Survivors include her sister, Barbara Udall, and many nieces and nephews, friends and family.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert J. Vining.
