Phyllis Innes Littlepage Petersen passed away on Tuesday July 26 at the Great Falls Peace Hospice. Originally from Gillette, Wyoming, Phyllis was raised on a sheep ranch with four other siblings. After high school she moved to Billings, Montana and attended Billings Business School obtaining her first job as a legal secretary. Later she took a job at Mountain Bell Telephone Company where she met Art Littlepage. They were married in 1953 and had a daughter and son. They lived in Billings, then Glendive, and then back to Billings following her husband’s promotions.
After Art’s death she met and eventually married Kermit Petersen. She and Kermit enjoyed traveling and visiting many foreign countries. Phyllis was an accomplished cook, seamstress, knitter, and golfer. Phyllis was keen on her family’s Scottish history, since her father was from Scotland, and invested much time researching genealogy with her eldest sister. In the last few years of her life, she moved to an assisted living facility to be near her devoted son.
She is preceded in death by Art (1975), Kermit 1988) and all of her siblings. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Dawn Littlepage of Vermont: her son, Jeff Littlepage and wife Yvonn of Fairfield,Montana; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is being planned to be held in Billings.
