Raymond Hanson Obituary

Raymond Hanson, Jr. passed away February 10, 2026. He was born April 13, 1949 to
Ray Sr. and Leone Hanson in Choteau.
Dad grew up in Choteau, working alongside his father and brother in construction.
Some of his best times were spent with cousins and finding the perfect fishing spot on
the Sun River. He also took many memorable trips into hunting camp with his sons and
numerous friends.
Out of high school, he moved to Helena but shortly after ended up in Augusta working
for Cobb Charolais for a couple years. His hard-working nature made for a successful
construction business, building many houses around the state. His craftmanship was
that of great pride. Dad contributed to the community as a Teton County reserve deputy,
Mayor for a couple of years and held a position on the hospital board for many.
Dad somehow managed to survive raising five kids, however, later in life as stories
came out, we discovered the apples didn’t fall far from the tree. He certainly had many
adventures in life.
The last 18 years were spent in Lincoln with his significant other. They enjoyed their
camping trips, time with friends, and any time spent with his kids and grandkids. He
continued working in construction with his brother, LeRoy.
Dad is survived by his significant other, Tami, sons Heath (Jamie) and Ace, and
daughters Tiffany (Rob), Cresta (Jason) and Teal (Shawn); sisters Marilyn and Mona
(Darren) Sister in law, Diane Hanson; 14 grandchildren, and 3 great grandkids. Also, many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother LeRoy and brother-in-law Walt.
Upon his request, no funeral services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a
later date.
