Raymond “Ray” Neal LaMere Sr. passed away from natural causes on June 3, 2024, at his home in Havre, Montana. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at 10AM in the Rose Room Chapel of Croxford Funeral Home in Great Falls, MT. A Graveside Service at Mount Olivet Cemetery will be held Monday, June 17, 2024, at 11AM.
Ray was born on November 25, 1956, in Helena, MT to Thomas and Emily (Gladeau) LaMere. Though Ray was born in Helena, he grew up in both Great Falls and Billings, MT. In his early years, Ray worked as a wildland firefighter, but went on to work as a Union Laborer and Carpenter; He worked in many of the oil refineries and power plants in the state.
In 1977, Ray married Susan Clark and during the marriage the young couple had 2 sons: Raymond N. LaMere Jr. and Daniel Thomas LaMere in Billings, MT. Ray went on to meet Anne Williamson and would call her sons, Kenneth Fisher and John Fishers, his sons also. He then went on to meet his soulmate, whom he had known since Grade School, Jacalyn Ironmaker. Ray would also call her children his own and had a special relationship with all his children and grandchildren.
Ray’s best times were spent hunting and fishing with his many nieces, nephews and all his children. There are many stories and adventures that all who knew him could tell. As a younger man, Ray enjoyed boxing and he has held an impressive boxing record. He also enjoyed participating in native American crafting.
He was preceded in death by his son Daniel LaMere; father Thomas LaMere; mother Emily LaMere; brothers Curtis Falcon, Eddie Falcon, Jerry LaMere, Pete LaMere, Ronny LaMere and Wayne LaMere; sisters Susie Gross and Tinkerbell Belgarde.
Ray is survived by his sons Raymond LaMere Jr., Kenneth Fisher, John Fisher and Shane Ironmaker; daughters Santee Healy and Memorie Clark; grandchildren Damien Warford, Emily Sue LaMere, Ian Fisher, Kaylee Green, Anessa Summers, Kasen Beaudry, Teagen Ironmaker, Tessa Ironmaker, Jaxton Ironmaker and Mariana Clark. Ray’s brother and sisters will always have great memories of their brother; sisters Charlotte LaMere, Peggy Morsette, Ann Falcon, Carol LaMere, Annette LaMere, Victoria LaMere and Gail LaMere; brother Punkie Falcon.
