Raymond McCommon Jr. Obituary

Ray McCommon Jr., 80, passed away in his sleep, after a brief illness, September 3rd, 2022 at a Great Falls hospital. He was born August 30th, 1942, in Jamestown ND, the son of Raymond McCommon Sr. And Gertrude Mickelson (Bates)

Ray graduated high-school in Jamestown and joined the U.S. Navy where he trained to be an electrical engineer. After the navy, Ray was an automotive mechanic for most of his working career and had opened an automotive shop in Kalispell, MT.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Karen Richter, and a granddaughter Kayla McCommon.

He is survived by his daughter Teresa (Terry) Kidder (Scott) of Milton, WA, son Gene McCommon (Dallas) of Belgrade, MT. Three grandchildren, Sean Kidder, Kassie Beirwagen, and Kyle McCommon. Four great-grandchildren. Four sisters, Virginia Shapen, Joan Luck, Carmen Miller and Judy Gumke; one brother, Jay Mickelson.

He will be missed by all that knew him.

There will be a burial at a later date at the Veterans cemetery in Helena.
