Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Dowell, 61, of Great Falls, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, August 31, 2014, surrounded by her family and friends, after a strong battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 7, Redeemer Lutheran Church at 3:00 PM with burial to take place at a later date.

Becky was born on December 2, 1952 in Great Falls to Floyd Garber and Virginia Collier. She attended school in Great Falls, graduating from CMR high school. She then went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Sciences from the College of Great Falls. In 1972, she married the love of her life, Bert Dowell, with whom she brought 3 beautiful children into the world. Over the course of her life, she worked in various positions within the Communication Field before retiring with 25 years of service at Benefis Health Care in December of 2013.

Becky loved to travel. She had a passion for bowling and was an amazing cook. She would go four wheeling in the mountains, dance, and enjoy the beauty of a rain shower or the falling of snow. Becky was a loving wife and mother and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her husband, her children, grandchildren and friends. She was also deeply rooted in her faith and in her church, Redeemer Lutheran, where she served as a Council Member.

Becky is survived by her husband, Bert Dowell of Great Falls; daughter, Elizabeth Marie Dowell; sons, Jeremiah Lee Dowell, Joshua Jarl Dowell; sister, Melissa Wisneski; brothers, Barry Garber, Dan Garber, Jarl Garber, Tom (Sharie) Floyd, Gilbert Floyd, Barrett Collier; grandmother, Viola Collier. Additional survivors include Larry, Verna and Niva Garber.

Those who have preceded Becky in death include her parents, uncles, grandparents, and step brother.
