Robert (Bob) Worm, age 93, of Stanford, Mont., passed away surrounded by family April 18, 2021.

Bob was born in Billings, Montana, April 29, 1927 to Andrew and Marie Worm, Russian-born German immigrants. He was the third-oldest of 10 kids - Harold, Agnes, Robert, Gus, John, Mary Jane, Joanne, Diane, Betty and Charles.

Bob grew up knowing hard work and love of family. When he met and married the love of his life, Mina May Weller, in 1950, they lived in Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Utica and finally settled in Stanford, Montana.

While in Billings, their first two children were born, Gary, and Merry. Once in Stanford, Patsy, Lori, Davy, and infant son John Thomas joined the family.

Bob worked many jobs in his 93 years, including jobs with sugar beets, coal mines, construction crews, as a ranch hand, heavy equipment operator, snow plow operator, and in his spare time took EMT classes to become an ambulance driver for Stanford.

Once retired, Bob became breakfast chef at the By Way Café, which he and Mina purchased in 1988.

Dad to so many, loved family the most.  Though he lived in a “tiny house” before they became popular, there was always room for one more having meals or crashing for the night.

Dad worked hard and played hard with his kids, never an idle man, he had a huge garden, loved his horses, and decided he should also do a little haying, which also kept the kids busy and out of trouble.

Nieces and nephews and later grandchildren loved to come and visit; you could always get an ice cream.

During his retirement (if you could call it that), you could find him tinkering with his baler and tractor, plowing snow and having coffee at the Deli with Dauna, who became one of the “kids.”

Bob is survived by five of his children, Gary Worm, Merry (Bob) Coats, Pat (Clyde) Carroll, Lori (Glen) Galt, Davy Worm, his sisters Mary Jane Tollefson, Diane Maertens, and Betty Storer. Grandchildren, Shawn and Jeremiah Worm, Vicky Eldridge, Heather Kimball, Brandy Janzen, Heidi Boeshans, and Adam Galt.  Great grandchildren, John Burkholder, Austin Kimball, Abby Wienk, Tyler Kimball, Ayla Janzen, Annaka Wheaton, Flint Janzen, Kinleigh Wheaton, Ellorah Galt and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in  death by his wife Mina May, infant son John Thomas, granddaughter May Lynn Richardson, brothers Harold, Gus, John, Charles, sisters Agnes, Joanne.
