Rosa Dixon Obituary

Rosa Marie Dixon of Great Falls, Montana was 73 years old when she passed away on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24th, 2020, after courageously battling ovarian cancer for 2 years. She was born on August 30th, 1947 in Decatur, Illinois to Clarence and Margaret (Oakley) Williams. She was the fourth child out of eight children between Clarence and Margarett. Rosa grew up in Cisco, Illinois and graduated from Montecello High School in 1965. While skating at the ice rink in December of 1964, she met James Edward Harrison, whom she went on to marry on September 4th, 1965. They settled down and started their family in Champagne, Illinois, in 1967. Four children came from their union, Tonya Harrison Marquart, Scott Harrison, Melanie Harrison, and Tristan Harrison. They had Tonya in 1967, Scott in 1968, and Melanie in 1971. They moved to Great Falls, Montana in August of 1976 and went on to have Tristan in 1979. They continued to raise their family together until their divorce in September of 1984. She went on to marry Ken Dixon in 1986 and later divorced, though she decided to keep her name. Rosa was an extremely proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren and was also a great grandmother to 8 great grandchildren with one more on the way. She had the honor of meeting every one of her grand and great grandchildren, excluding the one on the way, before her passing. She loved to spoil each one of her grandchildren, and often used her talents with crafts to create items for her grandchildren. She was an extremely talented crafter who had a wealth of knowledge in many skills, including but not limited to crochet, sewing, embroidery, macrame, and quilting. She spent many of her days creating macrame decorations for Christmas, macrame doll furniture, and even baby quilts that each one of her children, grandchildren, and many of her great grandchildren had. She was an avid square dancer for many years, and even instructed many of the dancers in their group. Rosa had an extreme love for anything Christmas and collected Santa figures and Christmas decorations for years of her life. Her home was often covered from floor to ceiling in Santa decorations when the season started. Her favorite drink was Coca-Cola, in which she was well known for always having coke in the fridge, decorations, and even a Christmas tree with its very own Christmas decorations. Many of her fondest memories was attending garage sales, as it was her favorite time and an activity she spent with her children and grandchildren in the summertime time. Despite her stubborn and hard love, she was extremely supportive and idolized her family. Though she may have had a odd way of showing it, she loved her family dearly and always thought of them and their needs even to her last day. Rosa was known for her stubborn and bull-headed personality, as she was a 4'9" force to be reckoned with. She worked nearly 19 years of her life at Walmart, where she powered through the workload faster than the youngest or strongest employees. Her work ethic and confidence in herself was an inspiration to many around her, and showed others that size makes no difference. She will forever be an inspiration and will be remembered for her determination, tough love, generosity, and youthful attitude. Rosa will be cherished by many, as she made a large impact on so many lives. She was loved and will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

Rosa is survived by her children Tonya Marquart (Mike), Scott Harrison (Christian), Melanie Harrison, and Tristan Harrison. Her brothers, Kenneth and Clarence "Buddy" Williams; her sisters, Margie Prahl, Darlene Marks (Doug), Shirley Moody (Bob), Loretta Williams, Beverly O'Bryne (Mike); her grandchildren, Brianna, Shelby, Jared, Rylee, Kody, Kelsey, Kooper, and Keefer; and her great grandchildren, Emmett, Margaret, Scarlett, Kai, Taven, Reality, Xander, Brooklyn, and Kayden (on the way) as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Clarence and Margaret Williams.
