Priscilla “Sally” Meade, 94, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  A Visitation with a Prayer and Vigil will be held on Monday, August 1st at 6:30 PM in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home.  Her Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd at 12:00 Noon at St. Ann’s Cathedral with a Graveside Service to follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Born in Great Falls, MT June 6, 1928 to Merrill K. and Myrtle M. (Leweke) Lemmon, Sally attended local schools, graduating form Great Falls High School.  She attended the University of Great Falls, earning a degree in teaching.  She met Richard A. Meade Sr. on a blind date at a football game, marrying him on January 28, 1950 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Great Falls.

The family moved to Fort Benton in 1963 but returned to Great Falls in 1964.  Sally worked as a country schoolteacher, clerked at Fabric Land and House of Fabrics, and was a gifted seamstress.  She was a loving spouse who enjoyed figure skating even winning the Heise Award, was a dedicated homemaker and was skilled at baking wedding cakes and pastries.  She loved to garden, as well as crochet, knit and cross stitch, winning ribbons at the state fair several times.  She raised St. Bernard dogs, winning ribbons and awards at dog shows.

Sally belonged to the Great Falls Senior Center and loved to play bingo.  She was involved in church activities, teaching CCD (Sunday School), loved the mountains, horseback riding, fishing and canoeing down the river.  She always had a hug and a smile.  A classy lady who often gave words of wisdom and encouragement, she was adventurous, fun and full of surprises.  She loved her family fiercely, and treasured time spent with her children and their families.  Peggy Flynn and JoAnn Denny were her lifelong friends and she loved them dearly.

Survivors include her sons, Joseph J. (Pat) Meade of Las Vegas, NV and Thomas P. (Krys) Meade of Idaho Falls, ID; daughters, Ann Marie Meade and Mary T. Elam of Great Falls and Laurie A. Meade of Tacoma, WA; 16 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.

Those who preceded her in death include her loving husband of 66 years, Richard; parents Merril and Myrtle Lemmon; daughter, Barbara J. Meade; son, Richard A. Meade Jr; grandson, Douglas P. Meade; granddaughter, Valerie A. Holverson

Sally lived at the Golden Eagle Plaza for the last 9 years.  The family would like to thank the staff for the loving care they gave to her.  She considered them her family and cherished their love and friendships.  We are grateful for the extra time they spent putting jigsaw puzzles together and listening to her life stories.
