Satpal Singh Muhar

Satpal Singh Muhar, 83, of Great Falls passed away on February 26, 2020. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 8 at 10:00 AM at Croxford Funeral Home. A reception will follow.

Satpal was born on September 15, 1936 in Talwandi Bharath, India to Sardar Gurbakhsh Singh and Harbans Kaur. He was raised in a joint family in the area but spent his teenage years in Rupowali and graduated from Khalsa High School Batala. After, he attended Baring College in Batala and graduated in 1955 having specialized in arts.

He was happily married to Gursharan K. Muhar for 53 years. For the next 35 years he worked very hard as a farmer in Rupowali, something he was very passionate about. At the age of 55 he made a major change in his life by moving to the United States bringing with him his wife and son and switching careers to work in customer service for rental car companies.

Even after moving so far from his birthplace, Satpal retained a strong bond and communicated with family and friends often. He was a very spiritual man and had a rich social life. He really enjoyed playing mathematical puzzles.

Satpal is survived by his son, Sandeep “Sunny” (Gurinderbir) Muhar; daughters, Simarjit (Satwinder) Gill, Nirmaljeet (Charanjeet) Pannu, Manjeet (Harinder) Seerha, Kuljeet (Navjeet) Chabewal; nephew, Mandeep (Navdeep) Muhar; nieces, Neena Sandhu, Preeti Sandhu, and Gagan Shergill; grandchildren, Habby, Alam, Sagar, Anmol, Noor, Bahaar, Aneel, Hareen, Abhiraj, and Zaara.
