Shirley Brown Obituary

Our loving mother passed away peacefully after a difficult and unbearable illness. She fought as long as she could until she knew everything was going to be okay. God answered her call, he reached out his hand and led her to the gates of heaven.

Shirley Ida Brown was born on August 5th, 1957 in Great Falls, MT to Leon and Angela (LeDeau) Cozino. She was a member of the Chippewa Little Shell Tribe, raised in Butte, MT and graduated from Butte High School in 1976. Shirley married Michael J. Brown on November 13th, 1976; the couple enjoyed 41 years of marriage. She had a sense of humor that nobody will forget and a loving heart that will be cherished forever. She was a great chef and made the best donut holes, she also had her CDL for truck driving.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Michael Brown, her parents Leon and Angela Cozino, Sister Yvonne Gonzales, and Brother Michael Cozino.  She is survived by her sons Michael Cozino and Justin Brown. Sisters Denise Cozino, Brenda (Held) Cozino, brothers George, Carmello and Leonard Cozino, 6 grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and in laws who will miss her very much.

Our hearts weigh heavy for our mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. We are comforted by knowing she is reunited with her husband and parents. Shirley was passionate about her religious beliefs and she held her church family, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, dear to her heart. We are thankful for them being there for her during the most difficult times. Our mother will be solely missed by her family and friends.

“Be with me, Father, on this day as peace took my worries away. Watch over ones that I love and let them grieve but give them strength to know I’m in your presence and to hold onto the memories we shared. Enable my children to have the strength and peace of mind that I am relieved from all pain, reunited with loved ones, and that I will always be there in Spirit” –  Shirley
