Shirley Ann (McClain) Smith

Shirley Ann Smith (McClain), 85, of Conrad, MT, passed away on October 12, 2023, in Great Falls, MT. She was born on March 31, 1938. Shirley was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend.

Shirley was known for her sweet and caring nature, as well as her stubbornness. She always went out of her way to help others, whether it was providing a hot meal, lending a listening ear, or offering a shoulder to cry on. She had a no-nonsense attitude and was never afraid to give someone a good, stern talking to when they needed it.

Shirley dedicated 25+ years of her life as the shipping and receiving lady at Bison Motors in Great Falls. She was also a dedicated board member of Unity Church of Truth in Great Falls for many years.

In her free time, Shirley enjoyed gardening, sewing, and baking. These were her favorite hobbies, and she found joy in creating beautiful things with her own hands.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her surviving family, including her daughters Danni Mooney, Deanna Hale, Nizarah Dragon, sons Mike Hale, Duaine Hale, Tom Sliter, Peder Snith, as well as her many grandchildren, as well as her late son Ronald Hale and late daughter Debra Ham. .

A gathering to celebrate Shirley's life will be held sometime in the spring or summer.
