William “Big Mac” Joseph Himmelberg Jr., 77, of Great Falls, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019. Per his wishes, no services will take place.
William was born on December 14, 1941 to parents William Himmelberg Sr. and Janice Monroe, in Glasgow, MO where he was raised and attended school. He later joined the U.S. Army. He served until his honorable discharge during the Vietnam War.
William married Evelyn, with whom he spent 58 wonderful years. Together they had eight children. Throughout his working career, William was the owner of the McDonald’s restaurants in Great Falls. With his free time, he was an MOA Official for Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He served as the Head Umpire for the State of Montana. William was also a diehard fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the University of Providence Argos.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Himmelberg; seven children; 17 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Janice Himmelberg.
