Foley Albert Guill, 98, of Great Falls, passed away June 29, 2016 from bladder cancer. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5th from 6pm-8pm in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home.  Foley will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Dorothy, at Sun River Cemetery at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 6th with a Celebration of Life to follow at Elks Lodge 214 from 1pm – 4pm.

Foley was born February 12, 1918 in Winifred, Montana to parents Andrew & Mae Guill. He spent his childhood there and in Simms, graduating from Simms High School. In 1941 he was married to the love of his life, Dorothy Hopkins, in Shelby, Montana. Foley enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 26, serving a stint overseas in Japan. He was honorably discharged in October of 1946.

Upon discharge from the military, Foley resumed his career in interior decorating, working for LMH Co. for 47 years and specializing in upholstery and interior design. He belonged to the American Legion, VFW and the Elks Lodge. In his free time Foley loved to travel all through Nevada, never missing a slot machine or black jack table. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing and camping with his family. He was well known for his love of Sunday drives, which may or may not have ended in Canada.

Musically gifted, Foley used to like to play piano for hours for the entertainment of his four children. He also played piano in his own dance band, the Foley Guill Orchestra, with his brothers, Lonnie, who played the saxophone, and Lloyd, who played the trumpet. These are treasured memories for those he leaves behind.

Survivors include his daughters, Nila Fields and Glenda Smith (Marvin Porteen), all of Great Falls; sons, Terry (Helen) Guill and Randy Guill (Mary Garoutte); as well as 21 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Guill.
