Iris June (Thomas) Edmisten passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the age of 70 years old. A Celebration of Life is planned for June 17, 2016 at 2:00pm at Dirk’s home in Great Falls, Montana.

Born June 11, 1945 to Ira and Alexina Thomas, they were the proud parents of their 6th child of 11.  She was raised and went to school in Great Falls.

Iris married Karl Crawford in Great Falls, and although this union ended in divorce, they were blessed to have two girls, Karla and Cheryl.  Iris worked as a waitress at the Crossroads.  She later gave birth to her son Dirk.

Iris met and married Bill Edmisten.  She retired from waitressing after the Crossroads closed.

Iris loved spending time with her family.  She was always having big dinners at Christmas and Thanksgiving.  She loved to travel whenever she could.  She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Iris enjoyed going to Pow Wows and loved Elvis Presley.  In her earlier years, she would go to see all of the guys who looked like Elvis.

Iris is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughters, Karla Fiorentine of Olympia, WA and Cheryl (Don) Carter of Tallahassee, FL; son, Dirk Crawford of Great Falls; three grandsons, Anthony Guerrero of Auburn, WA, Tyler (Shelby) of Fairfield, and Duncan of Olympia, WA; granddaughters, Mariah Redfern, and Reina Crawford of Great Falls; sister, Sheri Thomas of Black Eagle; brothers, Wayne Thomas of Great Falls, Donnie (Nan) Thomas of Seattle, WA; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She will be missed very much by all of her family.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Alexina “Teddy” Thomas; sisters, Margaret, Beverly, Betty, Patricia “Pattie”; brothers, Eugene, Michael and Kenneth.
