Condolences to the Hansen family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family. Psalms 147:3 says God, "heals the broken hearted, and binds up their wounds." May God bring you comfort and peace.

Treasured are the MCHS Class of 1960 Spartan Days and Reunions. Yes, "Big Larry," but a gentle and kind Larry with a great subtle smile. I literally looked "way up" to chat with Larry, but he always smiled and laughed as he looked way down to talk to some of us. Larry lived life well. So sorry for your loss of a husband, father, and grandfather. Will think of Larry soaring high and far testing those new "Angel Wings" and smiling.

My sincere sympathies to all of you that were close to Larry. I remember him very well from his time at the bookstore. I got to know Larry some at that time, and thought a lot of him. He was a fine man and will be missed.

Larry was always so upbeat and helpful at the UM Bookstore. I enjoyed being around him because he encouraged laughter. I remember how fun it was when I discovered that Larry and Susan married! We didn't have an opportunity to see Larry and Susan often over the years, but it was always enjoyable when we did. ....And, of course, the Highwood connection was special. Our good thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sue, Burke, and Chad - Hearing the news of Larry's sudden passing brought many reflections of a kind and gentle man. His unconditional love and support for the three of you was unmatched. He was always so proud to stop at the SREC MAGIE booth and give me an update on the boys and their families. God bless all of you as you work through this sudden life change. I can assure you that your and our loss of Larry is heavens gain. He is passing $2 bills as you read this!

I am sadden to read of Larry's passing in the Missoulian. Larry was my Physics Teacher in Columbia Falls. Larry taught us Physics at a college level and all of his students enjoyed the class. I was happy to see Larry managing the Bookstore when I started at UM the next Fall.

Dear Susan and Families:

I was saddened to read of Larry's death this morning in The Missoulian. I was on staff with Grizzly Athletics during Larry's tenure at the UM Bookstore. I always loved our conversations about the Griz and life. Haven't seen him for so many years, but when I saw his picture - all those memories can back. May great amounts of time heal the loss each of you feel this day. Great Peace, Gary Hughes, Missoula

To the Larry Hansen Family ~ I am sorry to learn of Larry's passing. Larry lived across the street from me on Sussex Ave, Missoula. We ran around together during our grade school years. We went to Boy Scout camp on Flathead Lake back in 1955. I haven't seen Larry since he worked in the book store.

Sue and family,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Larry. I always enjoyed my visits with Larry. Always engaging and inclusive of every one. Although I have not lived in the community for decades I can only imagine the void he will leave in the county. My deepest and most sincere condolences. Perhaps knowing that many people have all of you in our prayers you may feel some comfort. Words are difficult to express our heartfelt sympathies but over time may you feel the comfort of many friends.

Charlie and Chad, I was shocked to hear this, and so sad! When you lose your first parent, especially if it's sudden, just be patient with yourselves in your grief. We're all thinking of you and your family, so please know you're surrounded by love.

To the Hansen Family:

Larry will be missed. He was a trusted adviser to my mother on the affairs of the farm. He was a wealth of knowledge but at the same time, he was salt of the earth. When I was at the farm, I always enjoyed talking with Larry about his perspective on life. He was part of keeping America fed and he was good at what he did. He was a bedrock of the Highwood community. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7. That describes Larry. ~. Kevin Forder Phillips

Kevin, Your words of caring and reflection are needed by me and the family. Thanks so much. I check the guest book posts nearly every day and am blessed by those who write them. Burke and Chad and families have been hugely helpful in their intelligence, patience, planning, caring and advice. Nothing could have gone better in the last few weeks for us. Thank you for your blessings. Sue

Hansen Family,

I am sorry to hear of your loss. Larry was a good friend of the family's and leased our land for many years when he was farming. Larry kept us informed of what was happening in the area and it was great to still be connected to land through him. He will be missed by all of us and I know by a lot of other people as well. You are in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.
