Belva Louise (Skaw) Driscoll, 85, passed away on March 13th, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Belva was born May 13, 1931 in Great Falls, Montana, the 12th of 13 children born to Herman Albert Skaw and Florence Ethel Whitehorn. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home, with Visitation available for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Belva graduated from Darby High School, earned an M.A. in Education, and spent 32 years as a public-school teacher, most of those years in the Great Falls school system. She retired in 1985. She was married June 28, 1953 in Hamilton, Montana to Glenn L Driscoll. He preceded her in death in 2015.
Belva served faithfully in many positions in the LDS Church, including Relief Society President, Young Women President, teaching youth, and in music callings through the years. With her husband, she served a full-time mission in Nauvoo, Illinois from 1990-91.
Belva was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters: Emerald, Daryl, Maurice, Alvylda, Francis, Arlene, Myrtle, Ralph, Don and Glen. She is survived by a sister, Wylma, in Colorado; and a brother, Kenneth, in Hamilton, Montana. She is also survived by her daughter, Tara (Todd) Hansen of Taylorsville; four grandsons: Christopher and wife Jenny, Eric and wife Maria, Andrew and wife Ivy and Bradley and wife Carly; and eight great-grandchildren: Samantha, Sabrina, Jacob, Justin, Evelyn, Melanie, Gavin, and Danielle Hansen.
