Gladys Mosher

August 10, 1914 ~ September 14, 2014 (age 100) 100 Years Old

Gladys Mosher, age 100, of Augusta passed away peacefully at the Beehive Home in Choteau on September 14, 2014. A memorial service will be held in the Augusta Community Church on Friday, September 26 at 2pm.

She was the seventh child born to August and Mary Silve Nordquist on August 10, 1914 near Armington, Montana. Gladys graduated from high school in Belt and attended Montana State University in Bozeman where she met the love of her life, Stephen Mosher of Augusta. They were married on June 17, 1935 in Great Falls. Gladys and Steve lived on the family ranch south of Augusta until they retired in 1977.

Gladys enjoyed playing cards including pinochle, and especially cribbage with Steve. Gladys loved to bake and continued baking cookies and bread until she was 98. Her favorite hobby was gardening. She had a beautiful rock garden and many flowers she maintained until her health deteriorated.

Gladys was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and an active member of the Augusta Community Church and ladies bible study. In 1978 Gladys was on the heritage committee that helped write "In the Shadow of the Rockies," a history book about the families in the Augusta area.

Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband of 78 years, 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She is survived by a son, Bill (Marie); 2 daughters, Karen Knutson, and Marilyn (Jerry) Bowman; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
