Grace A. Canoy, 89, of Great Falls, MT, passed away May 20, 2015 at Benefis Skilled Nursing Center of Dementia. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 26th, at noon at Westside Methodist Church. No burial is planned at this time.

Grace was born June 1, 1925 in Edmunds, ND to Robert and Julia Dent. She was raised in North Dakota and Montana, graduating from Great Falls High School in 1943 and married Leighton Canoy that same year. She worked in retail sales for 11 years at C.R. Anthony Co. She switched to a career in real estate, working for Bison Realty for 9 years.

Grace was active in Boy Scouts, Campfire Girls and the PTA while her children were young. She was a member of the original committee instrumental in the placing of the big flag in Overlook Park. Grace enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing for dolls, growing flowers and cutting and arranging them for the house. She loved to listen to all her favorite “old” songs.

Survivors include her loving husband Leighton; daughters Linda (David) Brooks of Great Falls, MT and Tracey (Tom) Van Setten of Fairfield, MT; son Robert (Laura) Canoy of Dearborn, MT; sister Ruby Irion of Great Falls.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents; brother George Dent; sister Violet Bauer; grandson “Bobby”.
