Grace LaVerne Plackner Taves, 86, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.

She was born on February, 5, 1929 in Frazer, MN to Charles and Pauline Gelhowski Plackner. She was the youngest of six children. After graduating high school in Frazee, Grace moved to Fargo, ND to work.

In March 1951, Grace married Robert Taves in Casselton, ND. Grace and Robert were blessed with two children; Timothy Allan in 1952 and Rochelle (Shelly) Renee in 1956.

Grace was an active member of the Moravian Church in Casselton until its closing.

She is survived by her son, Timothy (Joy) Taves of Great Falls; two grandchildren, Matthew Taves and Heather (Jon) Hart of Great Falls. Her special pride were her two great-grandchildren; Marek Lee and Maddison Marie Hart of Great Falls. She is also survived by four step-grandchildren and 13 step-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Leona Taves of Marion, IN, and Mildred (Don) Muhs of Detroit Lakes, MN; Elsie Plackner of MN, and several nieces and nephews.

Grace was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert in 2003 and daughter, Rochelle in 1975; parents and five siblings; daughter-in-law, Diane Marie Ray Taves.

At Grace’s request, no services are planned. She will be buried beside her husband and daughter in Casselton at a later date.

Revelations 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.
