Joyce Alene Grasseschi Fontaine, 84, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 of natural causes at a local care facility. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home. The following day, Tuesday, December 15, a Graveside Service will be held at Highland Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Joyce was born on March 13, 1931 in Great Falls, MT to parents Delbert Grasseschi and Violet Benz. She attended school in Great Falls where she later graduated from Great Falls High. In 1952, Joyce married the first love of her life, Lynn Driskell Fontaine, in Butte, MT. Together their lives were blessed with two sons and two daughters. Joyce worked as a Sunday School Teacher at the Assembly of God Church in addition to working at the downtown Woolworths. Sadly, Lynn passed away in 1985. In 1992, Joyce married her second husband, Clifford N. Herbert who she remained with for 17yrs until his passing in 2009. Together they spent their days attending flea markets and garage sales in search of the unique treasures that would catch their eyes.

Joyce loved spending time skiing and camping at Holter Lake and traveling to Arizona in the winter. She was part owner of L.D. Fontaine Trucking which she and Lynn ran for 25yrs where she worked in the office handling the books and doing dispatch for the drivers. Joyce was the type of woman that everyone wanted to know. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Joyce will be missed by all who knew her.

Joyce in survived in death by her daughter, Karen L. (Barry) Garber of Great Falls; step-son, Bob (Marie) Fontaine of Cody, WY; grandchildren, Cory Fontaine of Great Falls, Chad (Josey) Garber of Great Falls, Kendra (Jake) Campbell of Lolo, MT, and five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both husbands, Lynn and Clifford; parents, Delbert and Violet Grasseschi; children, Sharron L. Fontaine, Richard L. Fontaine, and Michael L. Fontaine.
