The family moved into an apartment across the alley from Charley Russell’s residence where she would play in his studio. Later they lived upstairs of the family restaurant then moved to a house on 20th street where she and her friends would play on the 20th street bridge over the Missouri River. Lorraine graduated from Great Falls High School in 1934 and later found work in the Deaconess Hospital. On November 21, 1935 she married Gordon Shepherd. In 1940 their lives were blessed with their son Dennis. During the winter of 1946 the family moved to a cattle ranch in Millegan, Montana and in the summer of 1948 they moved back to Great Falls. For the next 8 years she worked at the Payless Drug Store and was a devoted house wife and mother.

Lorraine loved to play bridge with her friends and she was quite active in her church. She loved to travel and went on several cruises and bus tours with her friends. In the summer of 1986, shortly after the passing of her husband, Lorraine moved to Lakewood, Colorado. She stayed at the Meridian Assisted Living, Golden Pond Assisted Living and The Homestead at Lakewood Assisted Living.

She is survived by her son Dennis; daughter-in-law Cindy; 3 granddaughters, Lori, Chrissy and Debbie and 4 great grandchildren; Mason and Clara Wolfe, Tiana and Robert Wasinger. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, both parents, and her sister Grace.
