Martin James Reid, 93 years old, of Great Falls, Mt, passed away on February 16, 2015 at Peace Hospice of natural causes. No services are planned at this time. Martin was born on April 03, 1921 in Great Falls to Charles Reid and Magdalena Mora Reid. Martin graduated from Great Falls High School in 1939, and for over 70 years he resided and operated the family ranch. In his youth, Martin hiked the length of Tenderfoot Creek and in those days before four-wheel drive vehicles and ATV’s, it was pristine wilderness. He claimed to have been treed by a bear but then went on to declare that the fishing was fabulous. During the 1930’s, Martin acquired an extensive Indian artifact collection by scouring the ranch land when the grass was short and the ground was bare. In his later years he enjoyed the company of his numerous pets inclusive of cats, dogs, a peacock and most recently a turkey. Martin is survived by his nephew David & Ruth Gliko; Grandnephews Mason (Carol) Gliko and their daughters Sylvie & Louisa; Reece (Lisa) Gliko and their children Jair, Zoe, Nash & Rowan; Morgan (Ashley) Gliko and their sons Jack & Ben. Those who have preceded Martin in death include his parents and his sister Frances Laura Reid Gliko.
