Welcome to the memorial page for

Sonja R. Mora

October 1, 1937 ~ September 22, 2014 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Sonja Regis Mora graduated to Heaven on September 22, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 76. Visitation will be open to family and friends on Sunday, September 28 from 6-8pm in the Rose Room Chapel at Croxford Funeral Home. Her Celebration Service will be held the next day, Monday the 29th at 11:00am at Victory Church located at 3220 11th Ave South.

Sonja had a passion for interior design and home decorations. She and her husband, Harold, designed and built five homes, some of which appeared on the Tour of Lights as well as the Great Falls Tour of Homes. She loved to travel to see what the latest interior design trends were, and to put her own touch on each and every home and project that she took on. She also drew great joy from her Christmas decorations and was known for having numerous full-size and fully decorated Christmas trees throughout her house each year, as many as she could fit into each and every one of her homes. She loved the Holidays and gathering the Family for Holiday meals, with Christmas Eve as a highlight ensuring “Santa” came each and every Christmas Eve, no matter how old her children and grandchildren had become!

Sonja spent time working as a hostess, bank clerk and in the health care industry, but primarily she was a homemaker. Her family has fond memories of her enthusiasm for planning holiday events and her love for their second home at Seeley Lake, where she was a camp hostess.

Sonja was a founding member of Calvary Temple Interdenominational of Montana in 1956, which now is Victory Church. Her strong prophetic gift and love for God led her to become a spiritual mentor to many. She was an accomplished pianist/organist playing for the church worship services and singing tenor in the choir. She also spent several years as the state president of Women’s Aglow International. She supported her community as well, serving as a PTA president, and spent much time serving the elderly, often visiting nursing homes to visit and share her love for life with the elderly that she respected and honored.

Sonja was very proud of her maiden Bowe heritage as her Grandparents farmed in Bow Island Alberta, CA. Sonja spent a great deal of energy and pride maintaining the family farm and heritage still to this date. She cherished the time her family spent in Canada, and enjoyed revisiting the farming operation as often as she could get her family reunited. Her and Harold traveled throughout Canada, and loved recreating in Banff National Park.

She was proud of her children and grandchildren, and loved to follow them around the state and nation to attend sporting events, musical competitions, and a host of other events that she would challenge them to participate and compete in. She had a passion for traveling, and was on the go at any opportunity to get another trip in. She traveled internationally and enjoyed mission’s trips to serve others thorough the world.

When she was not traveling, or following Grandchildren around the state and country, she was passionate about family gatherings. She took great pride in laboring over home cooked meals to show her love through her incredible gift of cooking and entertaining. She loved to entertain friends as well, but was most fond of family dinners at her house, at any occasion, and often after church on Sundays. Sonja will be missed by all of her family, yet they rest in peace, assured that she is in a far better place, in Heaven with her Lord and Savior.

Survivors are her loving husband, friend and companion of 58 years, Harold F. Mora; her daughters, Renae (Pat) Bolton and Pam (Gary) Hart; her son, Thomas (Nancy) Mora; her brother, Dale (Lois) Muri; her grandkids, Tyler, Tiffany and Trevor Bolton; Spenser and Gina Hart; Quinn and Connor Mora. Of special mention is her close companion and favorite dog, Frosty.

You are loved as much as you loved, and will be missed deeply from all of your loved ones, family and friends, #SonjaStrong!

Memorials can be sent to Sletten Cancer institute or her worship center, Victory Church.
