Warren Ronald Folda, 84, of Fairfield, Mt, passed away on May 25, 2015 at a local facility of natural causes. A Memorial Service in honor of Warren’s life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Crawford Residence in Maiden Canyon, outside of Lewistown, MT, with a potluck to follow.

Warren was born on March 5, 1931 to Victor and Ethel Folda in Lewistown, MT, growing up in Maiden Canyon with his brother Alan and his sister Carole. He attended the local elementary schools near Brooks and Maiden Canyon and graduated from Fergus High School in 1949. In 1958, Warren married his partner in crime, Marilyn (Peggy) Waits, and they were blessed with 2 daughters and 1 son. As an Operating Engineer, he and his family moved extensively throughout the Northwest for different jobs (mostly building roads) within the scope of his career. But it was the move to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 1967 that he considered “home base.” In Idaho, Warren was involved in almost every segment of Interstate 90 that ran through Idaho, as either an Operator or Supervisor. His favorite job of running a CAT was the pioneering aspect. To be the first person on the job to build and clear the trail for a new road was very exciting and rewarding. He also did some pipeline work and anything else where a CAT was needed. Warren was a proud member of the Operating Engineers for 49 years, retiring in 1993. He and Peggy later moved back to Montana in 2006.

Warren’s interests were wide and varied. He enjoyed having honey bees, re-loading ammunition, target shooting, rodeos, hunting, camping, boating and fishing on Lake Pend Oreille. He loved having a “cold one” and visiting with anybody, watching a western or bull riding on TV, having one spoiled Bobcat for 17 years and always having a spoiled dog.

Warren is survived by his beloved wife Peggy; daughters, Deborah Perry of Bremerton, WA and Brook Folda of Denver, CO; son Clay Folda of Coeur d’Alene, ID; sister Carole Mosby of Tacoma, WA; brother Alan Folda of Lewistown, MT; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Those who have preceded Warren in death include his parents; a baby sister and a baby grandson.
