June 9, 1928 ~ February 4, 2016 (age 87) 87 Years Old

William “Bill” Henry Hoyt, 87, of Choteau Montana, passed away February 4, 2016 at Benefis Hospital, from complications from a head injury.  Per his wishes, William has been cremated and no services are scheduled at this time.

Bill was born on June 9, 1928, in Kila, Montana, to his parents John Simeon Hoyt and Lena Ramsey. He grew up in Patrick Creek, Montana, located just outside of Kila, where he grew up learning the ways of the land. In the early 1940’s, Bill met the love of his life, Ruth Louise Pound, and on November 16, 1946, they were married in Polson, Montana.

During their early years of marriage, Bill held various jobs, but he really enjoyed working as a butcher for a local meat processing company through the early 1950’s. In 1959, Bill and Ruth moved to Choteau, Montana, where they owned and operated Choteau Lockers, and in 1964, they built their dream business, Triangle Packing Inc. in Choteau, Montana.

Bill enjoyed many different activities throughout his years: including reading, history, fishing and woodworking. He also spent time on the Choteau Volunteer Fire Department.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ruth Hoyt of Choteau, MT; son, John (Chris) Hoyt of Choteau; daughters, Patsy (Joe) Tate of Cheyenne, WY, Linda Spinder of Choteau, Sharon Hoyt of Choteau, Char (Mike) Bradshaw of Drummond, MT, Janet Barner of West Richland, WA; sister, Maxine Hoyt of Bozeman, MT; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
