Lauryn Kate Goldhahn

February 14, 2001 ~ August 27, 2016 (age 15) 15 Years Old

Lauryn Kate Goldhahn died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, WA on August 27, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was surrounded by her family and many of her close friends.  A Celebration of Lauryn’s Life will be held on Wednesday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairfield High School Gymnasium.  The family will hold a private burial at a later date.

Lauryn was born on February 14, 2001 to Pat and Windie Goldhahn in Billings. As a young child, she lived in Park City and enjoyed staying home, hanging out with family and friends, pestering her sister Allix, playing with her sizable toy animal collection, and visiting a local farm and ranch.  She attended kindergarten through third grades at Park City Elementary. During this time, she participated in basketball, gymnastics, Awana, and softball. She attended most of the high school sporting events and loved hanging out with her sister, classmates, and high school buddies.

During the summer between third and fourth grade, Lauryn moved to Chester, where she attended Chester-Joplin-Inverness Public Schools. She was an active young lady who was a manager for the high school volleyball, basketball, and track teams and later became a participant in each of these sports. Lauryn was involved at one time or another in Missoula Children’s Theater, band, choir, FFA, FCCLA, and swim team. She was also an avid gopher and deer hunter.

Lauryn had just recently moved to Fairfield, where she was looking forward to beginning her sophomore year of high school. She spent the summer painting with her family, traveling with her sister’s AAU team, and participating in the high school summer basketball and volleyball programs. Lauryn had just started her career as a member of the Fairfield Eagle Volleyball Team.

Lauryn had a zest for life, and she loved to share it with others. She had boundless energy and kept her friends, family, and teachers on their toes. She lit up every room she walked into, even without saying a word. Lauryn had a way of making everyone feel like they were her best friend. She could (and would) talk to anyone, and she could make everyone smile and feel loved. Lauryn was a kind, loyal, and generous friend. She loved children and was an excellent babysitter.  She was an animal-lover and was pretty sure she needed one of every shape and size. She was a gracious and caring teammate. She was a fashionista-extraordinaire, although her current style of choice was geared more towards comfort than style.  She loved shopping, painting nails, making her favorite treats, decorating, organizing get-togethers, and using her excellent negotiating skills and big brown eyes to obtain permission from her own and her friends’ sometimes less-than-enthusiastic parents.

Lauryn is survived by her parents, Pat and Windie Goldhahn of Fairfield; sister, Allix; grandparents, Ed and Diane Goldhahn of Fort Benton and Bob and Fran Freeman of Fairfield; Uncle Lance (Jen) Goldhahn of Winchester, KY; Aunt Roberta (Mark) Long of Great Falls; cousins, Taylor, Haley and Garrett Goldhahn and Matthew and Kolton Long; and numerous extended family members.
