Just a note to Merlin's family. I was a co worker with Merlin for several years. He was a joy to know and cared deeply about his students and their families. I was sorry to have him retire and leave the teaching field. I was blessed to share the last few years of his teaching career listening to his stories and sharing his fun sense of humor. He is missed. I didn't hear until recently that he had passed away.. I am sorry for the loss of your brother, son and my friend. Sincerely, Debi Wiles in Hardin.

My condolences to the family. I am truly sorry for everything Dave had to go through. I hope the times we spent together in his last year brought a little happiness and distraction from a difficult road. Dave would say, "You know me, everything has to be perfect," and now I'm certain it is. Love ya Dave! Ricky

We are so sorry about the loss of Merlin. We are glad we could help organize his belongings and help with whatever we could. We will remember the good times we had playing softball for F-Troop. He was a great first baseman. He was great fun on the lake, and he could bowl up a storm with his 'Rhino' bowling ball. He came to many family Thanksgiving dinners at the Odd Fellows hall (this was the only place large enough to hold our family). Vic could always count on Merlin to go to a movie on Sunday night (they liked the shoot em up kind of shows. ) It was nice to meet with the family and visit on Saturday.

We extend our sincere condolence to the family. Mark and Merlin started their teaching careers at Crow. They became good friend and when Mark and I got married we considered him a part of our family. Merlin helped Mark coach football and they had several winning seasons. He was very involved with our oldest child Alyssa. He was such a big help and a good friend. I remember him as always willing to help when we needed anything. Mark remembers him as an excellent teacher. We will certainly miss him.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of Merlin. We all remember the kids and families we grew up with. I remember the blue pedal car, and the apples from your back yard. I think you were the first family I knew that had cable TV and air conditioning. I drive by the house and remember those things, The apple trees are gone and so are the manicured pine trees in the front. I am sorry he is no longer with us. Linda Jankens Urquhart.
